Odasz Dance Theatre

• NEW! Odasz Dance Theatre and Ballet Theatre have merged! Mary Kay Touris founded Ballet Theatre more than 20 years ago and the faculty and staff at Odasz Dance Theatre are proud to help her legacy of excellence in dance education continue. Combining our studios brings new friends, challenging and rewarding classes, and the shared goal of working and learning from each other in a positive environment. We would also like to thank the families who have been with ODT for these past years- your commitment and willingness to commute to Greece to stay with us has helped make this merger possible. We are a family and together we aim to give a warm welcome to all the new students and their families who are joining and enhancing our school!

•  Join us Wednesday, July 8th at 7pm for a Master Class with Russian Ballet Master Valery Lantratov! Students will have the opportunity to take an hour and a half ballet class with this world-famous dancer and Artistic Director of the Russian National Ballet Foundation. In 1991, he was one of eight soloists in Rudolph Nureyev's "Farewell Tour" of the United Kingdom. Click here: Registration then print, fill out and submit by mail to secure your spot in the class. • Company Soloist Steven Pitoni performed his award winning lyrical solo at the School of the Arts Talent Show on 12/16/08 in the "Dance" category against 2 other entrants. He initially tied for 1st place with a group of Senior Hip-Hop dancers and was required to "battle" for the title. The judges decided that the dancers had to dance to each others music to settle the tie. The hip-hop group gave their best shot dancing to Steven's lyrical song but Steven blew the crowd away when he started poppin' and lockin' to their hip-hop music. After the audience began chanting Steven's name, the judges announced their decision: Steven Pitoni won the dance-off!! Congratulations Steven on being a tremendous performer and well-rounded dancer!!

• "Hansel and Gretel" rehearsals begin. The full-length ballet is brand new to Western New York Ballet and features both company members and students of the Odasz Dance Theatre. The production is set to premiere in June of 2009.
